Are you excited about the idea of supporting the designing and building transportation infrastructure that will serve communities for years to come? We are currently seeking talented, ambitious and motivated interns to join our Engineering and Construction teams and help us deliver high-quality projects that enhance mobility and accessibility for our customers.
TriMet's Engineering & Construction division plans, designs, remodels and constructs high value transit projects. Work includes in-street (bus) facilities, extensions to the light rail system, operations and administrative facilities, bus garages and light rail operations bases. This team also manages improvements to existing TriMet facilities and implements opportunities for transit-supportive developments.
We have an exciting internship opportunity with in our Public Art Program, involving work related to our public art Collection Management and related Emergency Management, as well as the Public Art Advisory Committee. As an Intern on our team, you'll work on updating and performing data reconciliation of artwork records, working with Public Art Program contractors, establishing and coordinating meetings for various committees, and participating in planning meetings with our Engineering and Construction Project Managers. You'll work with both digital, physical, and cloud-based data. This is also an opportunity to work with our digital communications team on having a marketing and online presence, as well as providing a new perspective.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers' experiences and of TriMet's product and service offerings.
Essential Functions
  1. Update and perform data reconciliation of artwork records in the Collection Management database
  2. Interact with Public Art Program contractors as need, especially Collection Management Services contractor; assist with approved recommendation to record keeping practices
  3. Assist with administrative needs related to the Emergency Management Preparedness grant
  4. Assist with establishing and coordinating meetings for new Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC); attend and create meeting documentation
  5. Participate in planning meetings with E&C Project Managers from Design & Construction and Major Projects, during which future art projects will be developed; provide input to RFQs for commissioning new artwork and meet with artists as appropriate
  6. Provide youth perspective regarding Public Art Program, marketing and on-line presence; interface with Digicom staff.

Position Requirements
Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Art History, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline. Grads who have completed their degrees in the past 12-month period will also be considered.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Passion for engineering and delivering high-quality projects.

Selection Criteria
Type of Position / Grade / FLSA
Non-Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time (40 hours/week), Temporary. Internships will run May/June through August/September.
Wage
Interns will be paid $21/hour
