Description:

As an Engineering Manager on the FPI APIs team, you will responsible for leading a high performing team building secure, reliable APIs and related services that power our products.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of IT development and implementation experience in Java, Kolin, C++ or other object-oriented programming.2+ years managing engineerings including hands-on technical management.

OUR PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise APIs.
  • Experience developing applications using Springboot.
  • Experience developing products using extreme agile/ pair/mobbed programming in a test-driven development (TDD).
  • Experience using advanced software configuration management (source control, DevOps, continuous integration/continuous deployment, etc.)
  • Experience with software operations (DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Observability, Support and maintenance)
  • Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.
  • Have a deep desire to work closely, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes with other smart engineers.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE ABLE TO DO:

  • Manage an agile team of 6-10 engineerings to deliver working, tested product features in a micro service cloud-based architecture.
  • Design new features and improvements to our API platform that require hard real-time constraints and elegant, yet powerful software solutions at scale.
  • Provide thought leadership and architectural expertise and manage cross-team integration, especially with regards to API design.
  • Collaberate with product and engineering leadership on roadmap creation, prioritization and execution.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of new employees.
  • Set clear expectations and goals for your team.
  • Participate in technical designs that cut across other teams and organizations.
