Job Title: Director of Operations and Business Development – Federal Government Contracting

Job Description:

As the Director you will play a vital role in identifying and pursuing new opportunities within the US Government market. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining client relationships, writing proposals, managing current contracts and employees, and contributing to ongoing Business Development and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee all aspects of day-to-day business operations

· Identify and pursue new Federal contract opportunities via platforms (such as GSA and Sam.gov)

· Develop and maintain relationships with government clients, prime and sub-contractors, and other economic development partners

· Work closely with our internal team to ensure project completion rates, client satisfaction scores, operational efficiency improvements, and adherence to budgets and timelines

· Write compelling proposals tailored to client requirements that increases the P-Win for new contract opportunities

· Manage the entire proposal process, ensuring compliance and timely submission

· Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions for clients

· Research market trends and competitor activities to inform business strategies

· Travel for work-related conferences and client meetings as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Proven experience working in the federal government contracting realm

· Previous work experience supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA)

· Strong background in Communications and Project Management

· Business development experience for federal procurement

· Previous experience with directly managing teams and projects

· Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills

· Ability to work independently and remotely

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field

· Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government contracting

· Experience working with clients in the federal contracting space; strong speaking and presentation skillsets.

· This job is remote, however, you must reside in the DC, Maryland or Virginia area and be able to attend occasional in-person client meetings and conferences

Preferred Qualifications:

· Prior military service is preferred

· Government consulting experience

· Extensive knowledge and experience in capture and proposal processes

· Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and accuracy in proposal writing

Compensation:

Base pay + Operational performance bonus and Business development bonus
