We are currently seeking a Business Development Consultant to join our team.

As a consulting firm, FMP generates most of our work through written proposals and oral presentations. Potential clients evaluate our proposals and presentations for creative, customized solutions to their business needs. As such, Business Development is a core function for the success of our company. We are looking for a motivated and growth-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating and contributing to a high-performing team. This individual will support our Growth team across a range of Business Development-related activities, collaborate across FMP, and have the opportunity to grow their own knowledge, skills, and expertise and career at FMP.  

As a Business Development Consultantat FMP, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Research, track, and communicate Business Development opportunities in collaboration with FMP's Business Development and Management Team
  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for company growth and to monitor general market trends
  • Coordinate and support the proposal development and delivery process by engaging with employees at all levels of the organization to develop competitive and polished materials
  • Work independently to organize, update, and maintain Business Development information, materials, and tools
  • Actively engage in knowledge management activities (e.g., maintaining SharePoint, updating MS Dynamics Sales CRM) and drive reporting activities for FMP's leadership team
  • Develop graphics, data visualizations, and reports for use in proposals and broader marketing efforts (e.g., one-pagers, capability briefings, social media and website content)
  • Conduct detail-oriented reviews for compliance and accessibility on proposals and Business Development materials
  • Collaborate with FMP's Social Media Team to develop content, track metrics, and execute upon our social media and communications strategy
  • Rapidly grow in a constantly evolving and entrepreneurial environment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a federal contracting environment supporting a range of Business Development activities and/or experience as a consultant in the federal management/human capital industry
  • Bachelor's degree, with some experience in Business Development, Marketing, Writing, or Communications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and CRM software
  • Demonstrated skill in:
    • Oral and written communications
    • Research skills and analytical thinking
    • Detail orientation
    • Time management
    • Developing positive, professional relationships
    • Problem solving; critical thinking

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Federal Government procurement process
  • Experience with metrics, reporting, and use of PowerBI (or similar data visualization tools)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with 508 compliance and accessibility within the Microsoft Office and Adobe environment
  • Experience creating digital content for various social media platforms
