We are seeking to hire a seasoned Business Data Analyst to join our team. The Business Data analyst will perform routine business analysis such as elicitation of data and analytics requirements and creating business/technical documentation, logical/canonical data model, as well as performing data profiling and analysis, data mapping, data quality checking and investigation, and participate in the test process of the final solution.
This opportunity requires that the selected candidate be onsite at Fort Lauderdale, FL location a minimum of 3 days per week.
Act as a bridge between the technology domain and the business domain of an organization.
Responsible for eliciting, understanding, interpreting, and representing business requirements and acting as the conduit between the customer and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood.
Provide subject matter expertise on the use of data as well as educate teams on business model, metadata, and standards.
Responsible for understanding source systems and their data models.
Develop source to target mappings for data lineage.
Document source architecture to include data flows.
Responsible for analyzing data to validate business domains and requirements.
Responsible for data profiling and ensuring data quality requirements are accurate and complete.
Act in an advisory capacity in data model reviews, architecture approach and solution design to ensure high quality deliverables.
Responsible for partnering with management and business units on innovative ways to successfully utilize data and related tools to advance business objectives.
Works with governance council to establish data governance standards and guidelines.
Assist with Business Data lake testing / experimentation.
Assist with coordinating data dictionary completions.
Mentor Project DA resources
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, or related field
More than 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
Strong background in data analysis. prior experience as a Business Data Analyst mandatory
Strong SQL and experience with data mapping, validation, cleaning, and manipulation
Experience with the elicitation of requirements and utilizing the requirements to create business documentation (BRD's/ FRD's)
Prior experience working in an Agile project team is a must.
Backlog development / Backlog refinement / Sprint planning experience
Experience using Azure boards and Azure DevOps is a plus (Jira or an equivalent platform is acceptable)
Excellent verbal and written communication skill and Interpersonal and consultative skills
Analytical thinking and problem solving
Knowledge of the business and technology structure

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $60,300 - $190,100.
