The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024).
This internship will include projects and tasks that relate to Data Management & Data Planning as well as Data Solutions.
TheBusiness Data Analyst Intern will gain experience working on projects and assignments that relate to Data Solutions and Planning. This internship will provide opportunities for personal and professional development while working in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in activities to elicit and document stakeholder requirements for reports and visualizations to drive key business decisions.
- Participate in data product design reviews with team members as requirements are translated to solutions. Document and share findings with the team.
- Learn about key business applications and data to respond to ad-hoc questions and requests for information.
- Collaborate with business and data management team in the development of test cases.
- Engage in data quality and data validation activities in support of data initiatives.
- Evaluate opportunities to simplify and automate existing manual processes currently performed by stakeholder teams.
- Enforce and adhere to Data Governance practices and standards. Complete required Data Governance documentation.
- Assist in developing training materials for end users on data visualization, definitions, and data management.
- Support ad hoc requests in support of our customers and business leaders.
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, hybrid position.
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analysis or Business Intelligence (qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered) and must have completed at least one semester of classes
- Desire to work with data and reporting/analytics
- Knowledge of SQL is recommended
- Knowledge of SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle or Azure is a plus
- Working knowledge in Excel; VBA knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Experience with Microsoft suite of products (Office 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Lake (ADLS), Synapse, etc.) PowerQuery, Microsoft Power Automate is a plus
- Team player with ability to collaborate within data teams across the enterprise
- Ability to effectively engage with business partners and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
