Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax preparation, to support the financial operations of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections. Maintain vendor and customer records, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Record financial transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries, expense accruals, and depreciation entries. Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Tax Preparation: Assist with gathering financial information and preparing supporting documentation for tax returns, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Payroll Processing: Support payroll processing activities, including calculating employee wages, preparing payroll tax returns, and reconciling payroll-related accounts. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and compliance with payroll tax laws.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process by preparing budget variance analyses, tracking expenses against budgeted amounts, and providing insights and recommendations to management for financial planning purposes.
- Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel to maintain financial records, generate reports, and perform data analysis. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data in the accounting system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, and tax preparation processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.

Salary: $35,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
