Job Description
We are looking for a Bookkeeper Accountant to join our growing property management team! GEM Property Management is a property management company that manages condominiums, cooperatives, and HOA Associations throughout Northern New Jersey.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for each Association.
- Receive and process monthly maintenance fee payments.
- Process and pay invoices for each Association.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports (BS, IS, check register, cash journal, expense distribution, bank reconciliation etc) for each Association.
- Assist collection attorney with past due homeowner accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Answer phone calls from homeowners / vendors and assist
- Prepare and process journal entries
- Assist and year end budgeting for each Association
- Support the property managers in various ad-hoc projects and tasks
- Prepare send information to CPA so they can complete annual audits
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field
- Experience with Vantaca property management software, is a plus
- Knowledge of financial concepts and GAAP principles
- Proficient in general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
