Job Description
We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our team. We provide on-the-job training, and would prefer someone with a general understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus. This position will also handle/assist with some light Human Resources duties as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and issuing payments to vendors.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable by billing customers, tracking payments, and managing collections.
- Payroll: Enter payroll information into payroll software (ADP), and submit retirement contributions.
- Asset Management: Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals. Work with CPA firm to maintain a depreciation schedule.
- Taxes: Pay Sales and Use Tax, work with CPA firm to ensure tax compliance, make quarterly estimated tax deposits.
- Cash Management: Monitor bank accounts, reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Human Resources: Occasional tasks such as interviewing, setting up new employee, processing new hire paperwork, and communicating with benefit providers as needed.
Requirements:
- General understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus.
- Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting (or related with experience).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Able to perform duties accurately and efficiently without supervision.
- Effective time management skills and ability to manage deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, as well as analytical and problem solving skills.
Compensation:
Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
