JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary responsibilities are to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial operations, which includes preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing cash flow, allocating transactions, overseeing accounts receivable, and interfacing with accounts payable. This role is also responsible for calculating, filing, and paying monthly sales and use tax returns for Texas and Iowa.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all facets of accounting (accounts receivable, invoicing customers, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, review credit card reconciliations, cash applications, collections, payroll and interfacing with accounts payable).
Responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial processing, month-end close, cash management reports, and balance sheet reconciliation. Present monthly financials to the CEO, CTO, and VP of Business Development
Responsible for money management, including performing international wire transfers, ACH payments, and maintaining lines of credit
Maintain professional banking relationships.
Review payroll taxes for accuracy and ensure timely payment of payroll taxes by payroll service
Prepare State Sales & Use Taxes: monthly for TX, quarterly for IA
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reports, and various sales by location reports for income tax preparations
Work with outside CPA to help prepare annual income tax returns
Process payroll using a payroll service
Calculate, track, and pay out sales rep's commissions
Track service projects and project profit margin
Analyze product/service sales income, sales rep's commissions, partner's margin, and subcontractor's expenses to project profitability
Setup new customer accounts in QuickBooks
Invoice customer software renewals and net new sales
Track customer cancellations
Manage MRR (monthly recurring revenue) earned from customer's software renewals
Maintain customer software renewal records
Maintain company files and comply with record retention requirements
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
Strong organizational skills
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
Possesses well-developed interpersonal and communication, verbal, and written skills.
Must be result and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations and perform multifaceted projects
Must be highly motivated and have the ability to function independently and multi-task
Must be detail-oriented
Expert computer skills – proficient in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Google Slides, and Google Forms
QuickBooks Online accounting experience, Zoho CRM and Zoho Books
Knowledge of supplier platforms/networks: Ariba, Coupa, and Oracle (is a plus)
Knowledge of GSA sales (General Services Administration) to government agencies and reporting monthly GSA sales is a huge plus.
Knowledge of using a payroll system, such as PaychexFlex, to process payroll
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree (preferably in accounting or finance), combined with 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting/finance
