Bookkeeper

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our team. As a public accounting practice, we serve a variety of clients having a variety of needs. As a client bookkeeper, you will be responsible for providing multiple services for clients, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining an open communication line between clients and engagement team personnel. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will contribute to the overall success of our mission, to provide quality service to our clients.

Duties:
- Payroll processing on a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly basis, including generation and timely submission of payroll reports
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly or semi-annual gross receipts tax reports
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Generate journal entries and maintain the general ledger for clients
- Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks On-line to perform bookkeeping tasks
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Assist with research and resolution of New Mexico CRS notices for clients

Skills:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Excellent knowledge of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify errors or discrepancies in financial records

- Ability to multi-task

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
