Position: Billing Specialist II
Mission Statement: Cascadia Health delivers whole health care integrated mental health and addiction services, primary care, and housing to promote hope and support the well-being of the communities we serve.
Essential Function: The Billing Specialist II is responsible for accurate billing in the EPIC EHR system, reconciling assigned accounts, and adjudicating claims. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert in Epic for the billing department.
Essential Responsibilities: Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with Epic implementation, workflow creation, and training.
- Managing EPIC work queues to ensure accurate claims processing.
- Reviewing, correcting, and deleting data to ensure data integrity.
- Auditing payer account receivables and providing guidance to other staff members.
- Providing general clerical support and preparing routine correspondence.
- Verifying EHR system and MMIS for program eligibility.
- Processing payer/insurance denials and adjudicating client accounts.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation and meeting expected quota/production.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: EPIC EHR experience preferred, along with primary care and FQHC billing experience.
- Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of insurance companies' rules and regulations, proficiency in operating office equipment and computer software, strong analytical skills.

- Interpersonal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, commitment to customer needs, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions: This position offers a hybrid work schedule with two days in the administrative office. Daily routines may be hectic, requiring adaptability and multi-tasking. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work are common.
