BILLING SPECIALSIT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively prepare and promptly submit claims for services rendered by Community Access Services, ensuring adherence to billing guidelines and regulations, including monthly billings for Oregon Developmental Disability Services (ODDS), Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), and Oregon Commission for the Blind (OCB).
- Stay current on changes in Oregon Expenditure Guidelines billing regulations, guidelines, and policies, and ensure strict adherence to compliance standards in all billing activities.
- Investigate and promptly resolve discrepancies or denials in claims by collaborating with internal departments, external stakeholders, and relevant authorities as needed.
- Accurately submit invoices and reports monthly by the AFP deadline.
- Generate accurate Supported Employment, In-Home, and DSA billing reports formatted for uploading into the Express Payment & Reporting System (eXPRS) monthly or as required
- Maintain detailed and organized records of service billing activities, ensuring that documentation meets regulatory requirements and facilitates effective auditing processes
- Embrace and adapt to changes in Oregon billing regulations and guidelines, adjusting processes and practices as necessary to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance.
- Timely management of suspended billing claims.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance knowledge of billing procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Interact effectively with ODDS, VR, OCB representatives and internal staff to address billing inquiries, resolve issues, and facilitate the claims resolution process through clear and collaborative communication.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to maintain annual service eligibility for every person with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) served at CAS.
BILLING SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Billing Specialist or in a similar finance related rol
- Experienced and knowledgeable in processing and billing Oregon Developmental Disability Services (ODDS) 24-hour Residential Service
- Proficient in processing and billing ODDS Supported Living Services.
- Demonstrated proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of Oregon regulations, ODDS Expenditure Guidelines, accounting coding procedures, and reimbursement processes.
- Must pass a Level II Background Check Screening.
- Prior experience with eXPRS, Therap, or similar electronic record system
