General Responsibilities:
The Alternatives to Domestic Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily operations and the service delivery activities of assigned program components for the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Program. Responsibilities include answering telephones, scheduling, maintaining office supplies, processing outgoing mail, typing/word processing, database maintenance using a database management program (Osnium), copying, filing, preparing statistical reports, and client file review and maintenance. In addition, the Intake Coordinator will screen prospective clients and complete intakes to determine eligibility for participation in the Clinical Youth Behavioral Health program and psychoeducation groups, including Domestic Violence, Anger Management, and General Traumas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Responsible for answering all incoming telephone calls and ensuring callers' needs are met; secures necessary information to schedule/conduct information for client intakes. Tracks call for referral sources and requested services.
Ø Gathers necessary referrals and makes appropriate follow-up calls for scheduling.
Ø Determines the nature and degree of client dilemmas by conducting client intakes to assess financial challenges, personal and family adjustments, employment, shelter, transportation, and physical and mental impairments.
Ø Secures confidential information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to the client’s situation to evaluate the client’s capacities.
Ø Conducts client intakes and determines service needs.
Ø Maintains a working knowledge of community resources, organizations, and systems that impact domestic violence clients, including social services, law enforcement, and criminal and civil court systems. Provides appropriate advocacy, information, assistance, and referrals to help clients gain access and meet physical, emotional, economic, legal, and social needs outside the scope of ADV’s services. Responsible for updating and collaboratively maintaining resource manuals.
Ø Consult with the Director of Advocacy Services and Clinical Director regarding intakes and client management.
Ø Collects data as appropriate for entry into the data management system. Reviews databases and produces data reports in Osnium, Access, Xcel, Word, or another requested format as needed by the agency.
Ø Participates in accomplishing specific agency projects as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
A graduate degree (BA) from a four-year college or university is preferred; related advocacy experience in a non-profit environment is required. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of database software and web browsing. Bilingual in English/Spanish is required. The ability to pass a pre-employment background check is required.
