- Performs professional level duties related to Human Resources, primarily in regard to: health benefits and insurance administration, leave administration, and wellness program coordination.
- Responsible for administering various benefit programs to include: medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and 401K.
- Issues and explains benefit enrollment information to new hires during new hire processing and to all employees during open enrollment period.
- Manages open enrollment process to include meeting with the Broker to determine benefit plans for upcoming year, update benefit plans in HRIS system, update benefit handbooks/packets, and communicate open enrollment information to employees.
- Data enters employee benefit plan, insurance, COBRA and 401K changes into HRIS system and benefit provider portals.
- Extracts 401K and benefit reports from HRIS system and uploads information to Benefit providers on a bi-weekly basis.
- Prepares and distributes general benefit information to all employees.
- Reviews, approves/denies and tracks leave of absence requests. Ensures all appropriate documentation is received. Provides employee with all necessary paperwork and information related to their leave request.
- Point of contact for benefit and medical leave related inquiries and issues.
- Assists employees with paperwork, responds to questions, and assists in resolving any related problems.
- Stays up to date with federal and state government regulations, legislation and benefit trends.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed in the areas of employment / recruitment, training, and events / programs.
- Promotes positive public relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Human Resources and Benefits/Leave Administration.
- General knowledge of State, Federal and HR laws, practices and policies.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality / professional discretion.
- Ability to multi-task and juggle several projects and assignments simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, and timekeeping systems.
- Experience with Infinium/AS400, a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
