Some of what you'll be doing:

 

As Aviation Facilities & Infrastructure Building Information Modeling Program Manager, you will create, develop, and actively manage the interdisciplinary BIM model(s) of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) Campus to support new facility design and development, asset management, and provide accurate as built information to the Facilities and Infrastructure department and other stakeholders.

  • You will lead management and ongoing maintenance of SEA BIM Campus model information provided to and received from Port staff, consultants, and/or internal stakeholders as part of the Port Capital, airline, and tenant design and construction process.
  • You will collaboratively develop and have ownership of the process for checking in and out information from models and providing direction to owners, Port staff, engineers, architects, airlines, retail and dining, and other consultants to ensure BIM models submitted by others for incorporation into the overall SEA BIM Campus model complies with Port-wide BIM Standards and includes accurate as-built information.
  • You will manage and direct consultant(s) and Port staff to create and develop interdisciplinary BIM model(s) for SEA Campus, including procure funding for contracts, contract management, develop project plans, defining scope and budget, deliverables, and resources needed to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • You will manage consultant, and stakeholder effort including creating and reviewing models and integrating final phased deliverables into overall SEA BIM model(s).
  • You will collaboratively develop strategy for creation and development of interdisciplinary BIM model(s) for SEA Campus including scope definition and timeline for full interdisciplinary model integration, create and develop technical requirements needed to support creation and management of model, coordination with other departments to ensure model is aligned with and supports other Port initiatives, and support utilization by other departments.
  • You will conduct site analysis throughout airport campus to generate, evaluate, review, and record existing and new site conditions to validate BIM model data for all projects at SEA. You will update BIM model to match as built conditions and provide Port staff and consultants with as built information.
  • You will act as the subject matter expert responsible for communicating BIM to the Aviation Division and other critical Divisions as they develop projects in and around SEA Campus.
  • You will represent the Aviation division in creating, editing, and publishing Port-wide BIM standards and engage with external stakeholders to review and receive comments on SEA BIM model. 
  • You will collaboratively develop BIM model vision plan with internal stakeholders to ensure BIM model vision plan is as inclusive as possible to the full range of departmental and external consultant needs.

Who you are:

 

  • Experienced – You have five (5) years of experience managing project workload including modeling or managing modeling staff in Revit and/or CAD or BIM for medium to large scale complex campus type projects for the built environment. You also have three (3) years of experience translating 2D information or existing site conditions into 3D BIM model and experience in translating coordinate systems and datums.
  • Educated – You possess an Associate degree in Building Information Modeling or completion of relevant technical trade school program.
  • Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related design field. We also hope you have a Building Information Modeling Certificate.

  • Knowledgeable – You have knowledge of Revit, Autodesk Docs, and Navisworks, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS software, Sketchup, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe. You also have knowledge of asset management principles, public conformance to federal requirements, asset management software systems (CMMS) such as Maximo including familiarity with Uniformat, and Peoplesoft.
  • Communicative – You have strong communication skills including written, verbal, and graphic with the ability to positively interact, collaborate, and communicate with multidisciplinary project teams and develop presentation information to convey ideas.
  • Critical Thinker – You have critical thinking and problem-solving skills that includes the ability to integrate required data parameters into BIM model to support asset management goals and to extract and present data from BIM model in clear, understandable way to stakeholders.
  • Proactive – You can proactively identify conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information as well as identify, rank, and resolve risk through mitigation strategies such as decision analysis.
  • Planner – You can strategically plan, organize, and coordinate programs as well as manage multiple tasks at once and work independently. You can strategize multi-phase projects to achieve long term goals.

What else you need to know: 

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. 
  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid remote/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
  • Grade Review – The pay range and grade for non-represented positions are under review and subject to change as part of the Port’s work to implement a new pay program. This review is intended to ensure that positions are aligned with the new program that will be implemented in early 2024.
  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
  • Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. 
  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
  • Security Requirements – You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
