SummaryThe Program Manager is integral to a team that provides communication, programming, and services that encourage the successful transition of all first-year students to Tulane University. Specifically, the Program Manager will provide strategic vision and leadership in the supervision, training, and curricular development of the first-year seminar peer mentor program, a group of 125 upper-class mentors who support the transition of students during their first semester on campus. The manager is responsible for developing a transition curriculum and train the mentors on its execution. This position also oversees the Newcomb-Tulane College Reading Project, a common read for all incoming students, managing the book selection committee, faculty training, programmatic elements, and partnership with the New Orleans Book Festival. This position will also provide leadership to all Residential Faculty, a group of 12 faculty who program and connect with students in all first-year residence halls.
Required Qualifications•Bachelors Degree•2 years of professional experience working in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications•Master's Degree in higher education administration, college student development, or related field.•Demonstrated experience with initiatives supporting the successful transition of traditional-aged first-year college students.•Demonstrated commitment to building programs and services with diverse student groups in mind.•Ability to build programs or systems from idea-generation to execution.•Proven student-centered and customer-service oriented professionalism.•Experience developing and implementing assessment and evaluation in achieving continuous programmatic improvements
