Job Summary
As the Automation Engineering Manager, you are responsible for leading the AGV and AMR team of Automation Engineers in the development and implementation of mobile robotics solutions. You and your team of Engineers are enhancing our customers‘ supply chain processes through the development, design and efficient on-site installation of our automated systems. The Automation Engineering team works directly with our Customers and plays a critical role in building our Customer relationships. As the manager of the group, you assign Automation Engineers to specific Customer projects, with their daily direction provided by the Project Manager. You will grow a team of automation experts who not only install the systems, but also provide world-class 2nd level support.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Automation Engineering team.
- Establish smooth implementation processes and tools to ensure the efficient and successful delivery of engineering solutions.
- Assurance of customer satisfaction throughout the implementation phase.
- Ensure legal and technical compliance.
- Develop and promote strict adherence to safety measures for our employees and our Customers.
- Analyzing business relevant data, derive measures and report KPI’s to senior management.
- Collaborate with the project management, commissioning engineering and service teams
- Along with the training department, develop training plans to maximize the learning curve of the automation engineers
- Contribute to strategy development and align engineering efforts with overall business objectives.
- Resources allocation within your team.
- Development of risk assessments.
- Travel to customers, business events and trade shows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of automation or robotics, with preference for AGV and AMR experience
- Minimum of 3 years of leading a team.
- Strong CAD and tool-chain comprehension.
- Experience in designing and conducting system simulations.
- Experience in the realization of automation projects is an advantage.
