Job Description:
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the creation and design of related deliverables for the engineering and construction of various facilities within the energy and other sectors. Develops and applies engineering approaches to solving problems. Possesses knowledge of oil & gas industry instrumentation and various electrical components including motors, motor starters, and switchgears. Possesses knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as API, IEC, ISA, and NEC. Possesses ability to troubleshoot systems and develop solutions. Interfaces with client project managers and similar discipline engineers.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Instrument Index and I/O List
- Instrument datasheets
- Control philosophy and control narratives
- Cause and effect diagrams
- QA/QC of engineering and design documents and drawings
- Provide weekly project updates to project managers
· Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, prioritize tasks, and delegate when appropriate.
· Plan, lead, and participate in project and client meetings.
· Work in multi-disciplinary teams
· Assist in facility commissioning activities and attend FATs
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Controls, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
· Five (5) to Ten (10)+ years related experience required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct meetings and presentations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with quick responses to new issues.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to sit, stoop, prolonged walking during field trips
· Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
