Job Description:
The School of Kinesiology announces the availability of a full-time (9-month non-tenure track) Assistant/Associate Professor of Professional practice. The primary duties for this position include providing leadership, teaching undergraduate courses, and coordinating assessment for the Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. The Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology is one of the largest on campus serving over 1700 declared majors. The successful candidate will have a background that supports involvement in kinesiology/health professions and will have a commitment to scholarly teaching excellence and service to the profession as well as strong interpersonal communication skills. The appointment will be effective August 2024.

Assistant Rank Qualifications: Earned doctorate or clinical doctorate in Kinesiology or a related field by August 2024, with teaching experience in core subjects in Kinesiology, ability to advise undergraduate students, strong communication skills with a desire to mentor undergraduate students, involvement of service within a profession and/or higher education, and some form of Professional experience in a Kinesiology related field.
Associate Rank Qualifications: Earned doctorate or clinical doctorate in Kinesiology or a related field with a track record of teaching experience in core subjects in Kinesiology, strong communications skills, as well as experience in mentoring undergraduate students, supervising internships, and some form of Professional experience in a Kinesiology related field. Preferred candidates will have prior experience in administrative roles at the program level, demonstrated experience collaborating with community partners, experience working with diverse student populations, and previous service experience within a profession and/or higher education.
Responsibilities:(1) Teach undergraduate courses in kinesiology , (2) Advise and mentor students in kinesiology (3) Coordinate assessment for the Bachelor of Science in kinesiology, (4) Service on School, College, University, and Profession-based committees as appropriate, (5) Pursue scholarship and collaborative activities with service-based initiatives. The faculty member will contribute to the School of Kinesiology mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Rank:Assistant/Associate Professor of Professional Practice
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
