Position Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking a distinguished clinical neurologist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This exciting opportunity involves working with patients afflicted by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other Central Nervous System (CNS) autoimmune disorders at the UW Medicine Multiple Sclerosis Center. Renowned for its multi-disciplinary approach and recognized by the National MS Society for its exemplary level of care, the UW Medicine MS Center is a leader in the field of MS and related CNS autoimmune disorders.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of our dynamic academic service, engaging in various clinical responsibilities. These include providing outpatient clinical care and assuming inpatient attending duties at UW Medical Center - Montlake (UWMC-ML) and/or Harborview Medical Center. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about advancing neurological care and committed to excellence in a busy academic healthcare setting.

This is a full-time 12-month service period (July 1-June 30 Service period) appointment at the Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding) rank. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The base salary range for this position will be $18,320 - $ 19,657 per month ($219,840 - $235,884 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date for this position is September 1, 2024.

Qualifications

  • Requires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services
