Position Description

The School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Management and Organization, effective September 16, 2024. This is a full-time (100% FTE) position with a 9-month academic year appointment. The base salary range for this position will be $14,444 and $15,555 per month ($130,000 to $140,000 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program and Scholarly Academic status as defined by AACSB; publish in leading academic journals; teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in domains such as OB, Leadership, HR/People Analytics, and/or Cross-cultural management and provide service to the School, the University, and the community.

The School of Business

The School of Business has approximately 1,000 undergraduate, MBA, and MS in Accounting students. It is accredited by AACSB.

The School’s Management and Organization faculty are active scholars whose work has been published in leading journals including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, American Journal of Sociology, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology,and Strategic Management Journal.

The School offers a participatory student experience grounded in hands-on learning and close relationships with faculty as teachers and mentors. Faculty work closely with industry leaders as well as the smaller, innovative, and rapidly growing companies in software, electronic commerce, medical equipment, biotechnology, electronics, and aerospace. Our programs draw from companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Costco, Amazon, Expedia, Philips, and Starbucks.

Faculty teach at the UW Bothell campus and a campus extension located in Bellevue, Washington. The Management and Organization area delivers specializations focused on general management, leadership, technology and innovation management, and entrepreneurship across both our undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

Faculty members have complete access to the computing and library resources of the University of Washington. The culture is collegial and faculty members should expect to interact with colleagues from other business subdisciplines.

Qualifications

An earned doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Social Psychology, IO Psychology, or a related field, by the time the position starts, is required.
