Position Summary

If you answer yes to any of the questions above, we invite you to apply for the full-time, tenure-track position as a Radiologic Technology faculty in the Radiologic Technology Program of Bellevue College's Health Science, Education and Wellness Institute (HSEWI). This position is expected to begin Fall 2024 and will be a part of large cohort of new faculty joining the Bellevue College community.
As a full-time faculty member in Radiologic Technology, the successful candidate will serve as the program's clinical coordinator and demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence. As the clinical coordinator, the individual is responsible for coordinating clinical education, and in addition, shall be the primary instructor for a number of the didactic courses in the program's curriculum. Other responsibilities include assessing student learning outcomes; establishing and evaluating outcomes; advising students; maintaining current knowledge and skills in areas of assignment; building collaborative relationships within the BC community and the community at large; and demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and fostering a positive, caring learning environment where diversity and pluralism is valued. Faculty work in collaboration with the Radiologic Technology Program Chair and Program Manager, under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and are responsible primarily to the Dean of HSEWI. Full-time faculty teach in face-to-face settings and synchronous and asynchronous virtual settings and are expected to deliver in-person classes or a combination of in-person and virtual classes. Bellevue College's Radiologic Technology program is committed to hands-on instruction and, therefore, looking for faculty who will be available to teach primarily in-person.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Position Salary Range: $77,250.30/year - $108,344.14/year
Annual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $77,250.30; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience. New hires start no higher than $82,831.36 unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.

In addition to teaching, full-time faculty maintains office hours and participate in department and college activities. This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.

About the Department
The Health Sciences, Education & Wellness Institute (HSEWI) fosters successful completion of our diverse students' education goals, as well as advocates life-long wellness, learning, teaching, and service excellence. We provide a wide variety of accessible, rigorous, and engaging professional/technical courses, programs, and credentials that are responsive to individual, institutional, and community needs, prospects, and opportunities. Our Institute is comprised of sixteen unique programs which focus on providing excellent education and training for many professions in healthcare, education, and wellness.
Essential Functions
Plan, coordinate and schedule student clinical placements; work with clinical faculty to facilitate and evaluate student clinical performance in a timely manner.
Maintain relationship with clinical affiliates, ensure updated clinical contracts, and build new partnerships and articulation agreements with other institutions/agencies such as health care organizations.
Teach courses as assigned by the program chair; utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies and innovative techniques including the integration of technology and the latest research to assist students in the achievement of learning outcomes and assessment of learning.
Promote teaching and learning in Radiologic Technology in the classroom setting; assess student learning in the classroom, lab and clinical settings and provide students with timely written and verbal feedback.
Participate in curriculum revisions with the integration of the latest research aimed at continuous improvement and new course development.
Provide leadership and work with advisory committee to engage in environmental scanning to update and revise curriculum reflecting current needs in Radiologic Technology practice, education and needs of the community for health care in Radiologic Technology.
For admitted students, work with the program manager to verify immunizations, background checks and other clinical onboarding requirements.
Participate in professional development activities related to teaching and learning theory, education in Radiologic Technology and advances in medical imaging. Maintain professional-technical, Wahington State and ARRT certification.
Provide culturally responsive guidance and advising with an emphasis on the needs of historically marginalized student populations as they navigate courses, clinical assignments, and college systems.
Actively support student success and college pluralism/diversity goals/initiatives and activities and integrate activities into the life and work of the Radiologic Technology program.
Maintain clinical onboarding requirements.
Create course syllabus, audit clinical tracking documents and enter course grades.
Delegate tasks to all Clinical Instructors.
Assist with curriculum development and assessment including CANVAS and Traverses operations.
Maintaining program compliance by adhering to accreditation standards.
Develop and maintain program policy and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Current ARRT in good standing, Washington State Radiologic Technology Certification, Healthcare Provider CPR.
Prior experience in supervising students in a clinical setting.
Prior teaching experience at the community or college level.
Minimum two (2) years of employment experience in all facets of Radiologic Technology to include inpatient and outpatient settings, fluoroscopy, orthopedics, surgery, pain management, general diagnostic, trauma and portables.
Dedication to increasing inclusivity and closing opportunity gaps for historically marginalized students with intentional curriculum and instructional design.
This position will require the ability to travel to Bellevue College clinical affiliates.
Flexibility to meet scheduled lab and clinical times.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience using a variety of teaching, assessment, evaluation and advising techniques that engage students and emphasize interaction.
Minimum five (5) years of employment experience in all facets of Radiologic Technology to include inpatient and outpatient settings, fluoroscopy, orthopedics, surgery, pain management, general diagnostic, trauma, and portables.
Additional modality certifications.
Demonstrated leadership experience in meeting accreditation standards, coordinating department scheduling and quality assurance.
Record of active contribution to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts, whether through teaching, professional service, or community engagement.
