Job Summary
Candidates must be able to contribute to the undergraduate Computer Science program and should have broad competence in Computer Science with the ability to teach a variety of courses including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design and programming, discrete structures, theory of data base management systems, software engineering, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead accreditation-related activities
- Teach undergraduate courses during the fall and spring semesters
- Pursue a program of scholarly research and publication
- Advise students and maintain records of student progress
- Actively participate in recruitment and retention for the program
- Engage with Computer Science related industry groups and companies
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Supervise assurance of learning and continuous improvement processes
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution. Rank will be determined based upon educational background, scholarly productivity, and academic experience.
The ideal candidate will have: (1) Excellent teaching skills; (2) Evidence of the ability to perform quality applied, basic, or instructional research in the Computer Science field; (3) An established or planned research agenda; (4) Good interpersonal skills; (5) Effective written and oral communication skills, (6) The ability to work with and supervise a highly diverse student population, (7) Experience and ability to lead the program's accreditation-related activities and assessments, and (8) The ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty.
