Job description

Ground Effects a leading automotive up-fit supplier, is looking for a motivated individual to join our Operations Management Team!

The Assistant Operations Manager assists the Operations Manager with the strategic direction and leadership for the overall operations of multiple units within our organization. This role is to effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of each facility management/leadership team. Assist with driving the growth of revenue, productivity and promoting high quality customer satisfaction. Work with plant managers and leadership to build strong relationships with customer and team members while ensuring the integration of strategic production and process improvement plans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with plant leadership team to develop standardization among facilities, meet required production goals, provide quality products an customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with developing and implementing standardized processes throughout the business units.
  • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance objectives.
  • Assist with monitoring departmental/plant unit performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken if necessary.
  • Assist with supporting the analysis and reporting of the plants on the daily, monthly and annually department's key performance indicators and industry trends.
  • Ensure plant leadership is staffing appropriately to meet requirements at the plant level. Responsible for utilizing internal resources for recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management to support overall direction for each plant.
  • Assist with handling customer inquiries and complaints which are escalated from the plants, analyzing the customer's concern and present options to solve their issue
  • Meet regularly with plant managers to facilitate resolution of issues/problems for their plant and/or their departments and providing support where necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or similar. Experience accepted in lieu of education.
  • 3 to 5 years previous plant management experience in a manufacturing environment with proven success in role and stellar leadership abilities.
  • Experience with budgeting and profit and loss statements.
  • A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices and procedures, and other operational issues within the automotive industry.
  • Computer knowledge in MS office with emphasis in excel.
  • Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical thinking and people management skills.
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles. High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Advanced computer, communication and time management skills (computer knowledge in MS office with emphasis in excel.
  • Advanced knowledge with TS16949 or IATF 16949, Environmental Management System and OSHA Requirements.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Position will require ability to commute to Detroit/Hamtramck or Flint, MI office. With additional travel to other sites, as needed (sometimes on short notice).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $99,000.00 per year

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Detroit, MI: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Required)
