We are currently looking for an Assistant Administrative Nurse Manager to help oversee our Emergency Department team! The Associate Administrative Nurse Manager maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The AANM participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The AANM demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a specialized nursing unit(s) in collaboration with the ANM directing and coordinating patient and unit activities in an environment that supports excellence, ensuring the continued delivery of quality patient care. Assists the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of a select group of patients; participates in educational activities related to the clinical specialty; participates in clinical research studies. Occasionally, participates in direct patient care.

- Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 + Differential (depending on years of experience)

Assistant Nurse Manager Responsibilities:
- Helping to hire, train, teach, and monitor nurses.
- Managing clinical operations and developing care plans.
- Preparing the daily schedule and planning shifts.
- Ensuring nursing staff follows departmental procedures and policies.
- Assisting in budget preparation and expense management.
- Conducting patient rounds and addressing complaints.
- Evaluating the performance of the department and recommending improvements.
- Scheduling staff meetings for patient updates, issues, and recommendations.
- Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local standards.
- Keeping patient and employee records updated and accurate.
Education Qualifications:
- New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a related field required.
- Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification in Specialty Area desired.
- Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems.
- Effective English communication skills: written, oral and interpersonal.
