Schuyler Hospital is seeking a full time Assistant Nurse Manager for our Surgical Services Department. The Assistant Nurse Manager will provide daily operational oversight while working alongside colleagues and physicians to guide optimal outcomes. Provides and integrates clinical leadership and management of patient care, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, department of nursing, and clinical service; develops and sustains an environment of excellence in patient / family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidenced-based practice. The ANM collaborates with leadership to enhance patient experience, quality outcomes, nurse retention and recruitment, staff scheduling, and financial stewardship. The supervisor plays a crucial role to ensure unit compliance for all Joint Commission patient care standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Certification: Will obtain BLS during introductory period, ACLS
- Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
