Top Real Estate and Private Equity Investment Manager seeking an Assistant Controller. Hybrid schedule - 2/3 days in office in Downtown Chicago. Competitive compensation package. Great benefits - medical, dental, vision, generous PTO and 401k match.
Responsibilities:
- Help lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes, including the preparation of financial statements and client statements.
- Oversee the work of junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Conduct monthly financial analysis, reviewing investment accounting information to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Coordinate and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, including facilitating year-end audit and tax obligations.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Track and record a high volume of investor cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the cash management group to execute all cash transactions in multiple currencies, with experience in currency hedging considered a valuable asset.
- Calculate, analyze, and report performance returns to stakeholders and senior management.
- Requirements:
- 4-5 years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- In depth real estate and private equity knowledge
- CPA strongly preferred
