Blaw Knox Credit Union is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Controller to join our growing team. We are a reputable and well-established financial institution dedicated to providing outstanding service to our members. As the Assistant Controller, you will play a vital role in the financial management of our credit union and work closely with the Controller to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee reconciliation of accounts, including bank accounts, loans, and investments.
- Train and supervise staff in accounting procedures, and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Support the Controller in special projects and initiatives as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry.
- CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $82,000 - $96,000 per year
