The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Application Analyst I - Technical Education.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, functionality, and reliability of the EMR train domain. The Application Analyst I - Technical Education is responsible for maintaining the train domain infrastructure, addressing technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Performs routine maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of the EMR train domain to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Participates in system testing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure error-free functionality and accurate data management.
- Provides timely technical support to end-users, addressing queries and concerns related to the train domain.
- Maintains online help and patient education functionality (LearningLIVE, eCoach, Krames, etc.
- Serves as the point of contact for all technology issues related to training.
- Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
- Demonstrates analytical problem solving to research and resolve service tickets pertaining to training.
Training System Maintenance/Support
Activities:
- Responsible for maintaining the Cerner Train domains and the UHS Training hospitals including rules, interfaces, patient data, permissions, and user access.
- Manages all domain copies involving the Train domains.
- Coordinates regression testing and issue resolution.
- Maintains LearningLIVE and eCoach, including production of monthly reports.
- Work closely with the trainers to ensure the train domain is set up to conduct effective training sessions.
Planning & Development
Activities:
- Assists in the IS Education team's learning and development efforts.
- Assesses current and future train domain development needs.
- Deploys system updates and streamlines processes to support training.
- Keeps current on relevant system updates and packages, clinical workflow changes and release notes.
- Collaborates with other teams to update training systems as needed to meet required training deadlines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, regulations and advancements in EMR technology to propose continuous improvements.
Support Activities:
Activities:
- Assists with education and training activities such as creating tip sheets and manuals, web-based training, and tip sheets for quality.
- Uploads quarterly patient education content packages into Cerner
- Collaborates with project managers on special training projects.
- Monitors and resolves service tickets in the UHS and Cerner tracking systems.
- Provides Cerner Security Marathon and Go Live support as needed.
- May provide training to Corporate IT staff on Cerner technical functions/tools
- Assists with uploading and maintaining courses and materials in the Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery, management, and tracking.
Change Advisory Board (CAB)
Activities:
- Follows all change management policies and procedures.
- Represents the Education team in CAB meetings.
- Sends weekly communications to relevant stakeholders regarding system changes
- Creates monthly education packets for all significant changes and for Cerner upgrades, as needed.
- Uploads and maintains release notes and education documents on Corporate Education Team and Facility SharePoint sites
- Follows up on questions regarding system changes.
Administration and Oversight
Activities:
- Maintains Service Excellence principles.
- Submits status reports, trip reports and training metrics to manager
- Documents train domain technical specs/processes and files them appropriately
- Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
- Updates project plans in online Project Management system.
- Adheres to Corporate and Information Services policies, including UHS Service Levels, Project Management, and Change Management.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Knowledge:
EMR system technical and build experience required. Certifications in EMR systems maintenance and relevant technologies are a plus. Knowledge of hospital environments preferred.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with industry-standard EMR software and programming languages (SQL)
- Strong planning, tracking, change management, risk management, and issue management skills relating to technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple training projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills to develop training timelines, schedules, and deliverables.
- Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates customer-oriented service excellence principles.
- English language proficiency.

Travel Requirements: Position requires up to 10% overnight travel for periods of up to one week.
