The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Associate Application Analyst -Surgical Systems.
Working as a member of the SurgiNet team, the Associate Application Analyst - Surgical Systemsparticipates in technology implementations and clinical, business and technical process analyses within the acute care setting with a goal to integrate and align applications within the UHS EMR standardly deployed throughout the enterprise. Works to resolve customer issues/concerns identified during times of implementation, optimization, or maintenance activities. Diagnoses and communicates problems within and across teams in order to facilitate resolutions to our facility IT and clinical end users in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities include:
System Implementation
Activities:
- Regularly meets with users, vendors and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications.
- Supports the implementations of applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
- Performs system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle.
- Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets.
- Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.
- Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.
- Assists with the training of users in operating procedures for application.
Activities:
- Demonstrates understanding of perioperative workflow
- Demonstrates analytical problem solving
- Assists in performing routine system maintenance and builds, including major application upgrades.
- Establishes and maintains regular communications with application teams and user community.
- Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
- Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets.
- Provides on-call support as scheduled.
Activities:
- Maintains Service Excellence principles.
- Prepares and submits status reports to supervisor as required.
- Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
- Performs other tasks as assigned/required by management.
Position Requirements:
- Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- One or more years clinical Information Services or relevant clinical experience.
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and email software applications.
- Working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; development and analysis of programs based on design specifications; familiarity with application development life cycle.
- Basic knowledge of Information Services standards and quality methods and metrics.
- A quick learner of software and information technology, and motivated to learn new applications and business operations.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication and documentation skills, among facility customers and team members.
- Demonstrates customer-oriented service excellence principals, as outlined in UHS corporate standards.
- Basic knowledge of project management methods, business practices, and terminology.
- Self-disciplined, able to work independently, but also able to take direction when necessary.
- Self-motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledge.
- Very organized and detail-oriented.
- Flexible with time.

Travel Requirements: 5 - 25% domestic US travel (depending on projects and Go Lives).
