ResponsibilitiesThe Administrative Specialist for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) will support the Director and staff by coordinating projects and events, managing daily office needs, and assisting the Learning Assistant (LA) Program with recruitment, hiring, communications, and record-keeping.
The Administrative Specialist:
- Assists with coordination of the Learning Assistant (LA) Program and communicates with campus partners including faculty and staff.
- Assists with LA hiring, including recruitment and supporting HR processing by monitoring onboarding and following up with new hires as needed.
- Monitors LA time entry and time approvals, and is main contact for LAs.
- Processes tuition waivers for Learning Assistants taking the LA seminar course.
- Provides administrative and operational support services to CAT personnel.
- Coordinates CAT office calendars including scheduling meetings, events, and communication with attendees.
- Assists with programs and events including creating materials, ordering food, space reservation and scheduling.
- Maintains records for LA Program and other CAT programs and makes them available for reporting.
- Serves as purchaser for CAT office
- Serves as travel representative by coordinating all aspects of travel including reservations, expense reimbursements and any other needs related to travel for CAT faculty and staff.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

The anticipated salary range is low to mid $40,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
