University Business Administrators - Interior Architecture & Design
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for completing financial and administrative activities for the Department of Interior Architecture & Design to include fiscal, budgets, human resources, faculty development, and other administrative functions. Oversees day-to-day operations of the department and serves as a highly visible representative of Interior Architecture & Design via meetings and correspondence to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
- Serves as Financial and Budget Manager for Interior Architecture & Design. Responsible for the monthly reconciliation and financial reporting of departmental accounts. Serves as travel representative responsible for assisting with travel logistics, entering travel requests, and expense reports.
- Serves as HR Department Representative and as an advisor to leadership regarding human resources issues and best practices. Initiates, monitors, and completes HR activities to include time and labor, recruiting, onboarding, and separation paperwork, appointment updates, sabbatical & LOA applications, and evaluation processes.
- Interprets University policies and provides recommendations based on knowledge of the organization's business administrative objectives and activities. Advises and informs leadership on financial activities by preparing reports such as internal budgeting spreadsheets to assist with budget preparation and rate developments.
- Serves as initial point of contact providing information and guidance to students and guests. Assists faculty with logistics for department events. Manages special projects as assigned by the Department Chair and College.
- Generates and updates AOR forms with information provided by Department Chair. Certifies FACET reports, based on AOR's to ensure compliance. Acts as liaison between the department and Faculty Development to oversee P&T processes and timelines.
Bachelor's degree and two years experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years' of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

- Ability to compile, review and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work processes to meet deadlines.
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of University policy and procedure and ability to interpret and apply these policies.
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
