ResponsibilitiesThis position provides leadership and guidance on administrative and human resource transactions, policies, and procedures for the College of Communication & Information (CCI). Responsible for assisting CCI leadership with strategic planning and management of these human resource and administrative functions.
- Provides oversight and direction of CCI's HR functions, including staff, faculty, and OPS appointments. Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing for recruiting, hiring, terminations, position descriptions changes/updates, evaluations, benefits, time and leave, active appointment reports, onboarding of new employees, re-appointments, and funding changes. Works directly with internal stakeholders to regulate quality control of tasks and assists in mitigating training deficiencies while developing opportunities, supplemental training, and resources to enhance operations. Responsible for advising and counseling CCI deans, chairs, directors, department heads, and staff on the appropriate recruitment method, hiring processes, compensation, and reimbursements for individuals and groups.
- Plans, designs, implements, and administers programs and procedures necessary to provide HR administrative support to CCI. Works with the Dean and Associate Director to strategically lead the College's administrative planning and programs. Partners with the CCI senior leadership to identify departmental needs by creating and maintaining reports to analyze position status, vacancies, and hiring trends. Provides the Assoc Director and Research Director with staffing salary spent and encumbrance projections for the College pertaining to projects/grants. Prepares staffing rate reports for the Deans, Department Chairs, and Directors. Manages all faculty and staff variance reports and adaptive planning for CCI to include funding source allocations.
- Communicates frequently, directly, and proactively with CCI leadership to ensure the most effective operations within CCI. Develops process improvements and coordination of processes for administrative functions. Overseas the management and direction of the College's training, organizational, and professional development efforts. Coordinates retention events for employees to network and encourage communication.
- Monitors changes, interprets, recommends, and implements policies and procedures with the deans and other management personnel to ensure adherence to federal, state, University, and College laws, rules, policies, and business practices. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems that significantly impact the College's overall goals. Consults with leadership and internal and external business partners to build networks and positive change to support the college mission. Develops and maintains partnerships through the University to achieve CCI and UBA goals. Serves as a backup to the Associate Director, Administrative Services.
Bachelor's degree and four years experience or a high school diploma or equivalence and eight years of experience. (Note: or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

- Should be able to work well with others, supervise, train, and take initiative.
- Have basic computer skills and Microsoft software knowledge.
- The candidate should have some knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Knowledgeable with FSU OMNI and Ramp processes.
