The Mission of the Ohio Department of Commerce

is promoting prosperity by protecting what matters most.

The Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing helps ensure Ohioans’ investment in their largest asset – their homes – is a sound one. This includes licensing, educating, and enforcing Ohio laws for real estate brokers, salespersons, real estate appraisers, home inspectors and foreign real estate dealers and salespersons. The division also registers cemeteries and real estate developments located in other states that are marketed in Ohio. REPL also has responsibilities under the Manufactured Homes Program and is responsible for licensing and inspecting brokers/dealers and salespersons. The Video Service Authorization Section provides complaint services, education and outreach to cable consumers, local governments, and cable providers.

Commerce is comprised of seven operating divisions and two standalone programs that span a variety of industries including real estate, liquor, banking, securities, firefighting, construction and skilled trades, and medical marijuana. Commerce is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.

What You'll Do:

Coordinate Superintendent’s calendar, speaking engagements and travel.

Coordinate travel & reimbursement for board & commission members.

Prepare routine reports for the agency, boards & commissions.

Facilitate website updates and general email correspondence.

Manage projects, fiscal requests, student loan re-payment plans.

Qualifications 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/Administrative Professional field.
