Job Duties

This position will work 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. While the majority of work will be in-office, there will be periodic flexibility to work from home.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to join our team as an Administrative Professional with the Director’s Office at our Central Office in beautiful downtown Columbus.

In this role you’ll support the Director’s Office by performing non-routine administrative tasks including secretarial and clerical work. You’ll greet visitors, answer, and direct incoming calls in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner. You’ll respond to questions and inquiries regarding agency activities and direct them to appropriate Agency personnel for answers.


You’ll perform fiscal duties including coordinating travel authorization and expense reports, assisting in budget preparation and overseeing purchasing, invoicing, and requisitions. To keep the office running smoothly and efficiently, you’ll tend to administrative tasks like mail processing, maintenance of office equipment, stocking supplies, and retaining and archiving files and records per the Agency’s retention schedules.

Qualifications

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/Administrative Professional field.
  • Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/Administrative Professional field.

  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2,16872.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
