Position Summary
Community Design Studio is seeking a self-motivated, tech savvy individual with strong organization and administrative skills to serve as our Administrative Coordinator.
The Administrative Coordinator will work closely with the board chair and other board leadership to provide administrative support, contribute to organizational efforts, and facilitate communications between the board and stakeholders. The position is part-time, working 10-15 hours per week.
With a flexible work schedule, this role is great for someone who does not want to work full time or is looking for additional income. It offers opportunities for professional development, networking, and the ability to contribute to exciting projects happening in Winston-Salem. Community Design Studio will pay up to $30/hour for the ideal candidate. This is currently a 6-month contract position, but depending on organizational needs may be extended.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitating internal and external communications via email and website
- Scheduling of meetings and special events (in person and virtually via zoom)
- Supporting grant reporting
- Tracking of donor records
- Organizing and maintaining volunteer database
- Updating and maintaining website content
- Managing social media accounts (primarily Instagram and Facebook)
- Meeting preparation along with attending meetings to take minutes
- Providing general administrative support to the Board Chair and Team Leads
- Monitoring email account and event registrations
- Coordination and logistics for key programs, such as Leadership by Design camps
- Basic bookkeeping (invoices, expenses, payments, receipts, etc.)
- Organizing and archiving communications and documents
- Providing insights and recommendations for administrative enhancements the organization can make
Required Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills with proficiency using GoogleWorkspace
- Experience setting up and running backend support for zoom/GoogleMeet meetings
- Ability to attend monthly board meetings along with other ad hoc meetings as needed
- Experience documenting meeting minutes for Board of Directors and Committee meetings
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with nonprofits as a volunteer, board member, and/or administrative support (HandsOn nonprofit training available as needed)
- Experience with Quickbooks or other financial management software
- Grant writing and/or tracking experience
- Experience with graphic design/visual communications and required software (e.g., Canva or Adobe)
- Experience managing a social media account

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
