Job Duties

Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant for the Navy ROTC department. This position will provide administrative support and be a liaison between VMI and the ROTC program.
Job Duties:
Manage and reconcile accounting budgets for the department, including purchasing, invoices, and travel.
Track, monitor, and manage supplies and fixed assets inventory.
Develop and maintain a weekly NROTC tracking system database to organize cadets in NROTC.
Manage event planning logistics and assist with outreach efforts.
Coordinate office resources materials, both print and on-line.
Maintain confidentiality, good judgment, and discretion in all areas of work.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in budget administration, including calculating and reconciling budgets.
Experience in organizing data and establishing and maintaining confidential files in automated and paper formats.
Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, listening).
Ability to compose and prepare correspondence and complete reports and forms.
Ability to plan and schedule administrative support for programs and events.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and web page maintenance.

Additional Considerations

College level coursework, especially in accounting and business, or equivalent applicable experience or training.
