We are looking for a Senior Process R&D Engineer / Senior Engineer II with the expertise to support our Protein Solutions business.
You will develop new flavorful and sustainable food ingredients while working with an agile development team of scientists, engineers, and technologists. You will be directly responsible for driving all aspects of the manufacturing process development for these ingredients.
Main responsibilities.
Collaborate with marketing and business leaders to ideate new R&D projects.
Initiate new projects after evaluating technical feasibility, economics, and sustainability impacts.
Design and execute lab and pilot scale experiments.
Lead production scale R&D trials.
Transfer products from R&D to full scale production.
Support production sites with troubleshooting and training.
Develop and document process technology information:
understand how operational parameters impact customer applications performance.
determine critical operating limits.
develop both raw material and product specifications.
Champion corporate environmental, health, safety, and diversity initiatives.
- BSc in Chemical Engineering; Master level qualification a plus
- Proven experience in providing creative Process R&D solutions.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical competence in engineering fundamentals, data interpretation, scientific principles, theories, and concepts. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Ability to lead cross functional teams with Applications, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Analytical, and Commercial members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative passion.
- Data based decision making and strong results driven approach to projects.
- A demonstrated history of delivering results bringing projects in safely, on time, and within budget.
- Mentoring experience.
- Extrusion experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; adaptable to a varied audience.
- Strong safety leadership and experience with process safety management.
- Willingness to travel both domestic and internationally (~20% travel).
This position reports to the Process R&D Lead in Protein Solutions, Nourish Business Unit.
