Position:Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Program Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: Starting at $12.00 an hour
Function:
To provide clerical and administrative support as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
The position requires business/secretarial course work and three (3) years' experience as an Administrative Assistant. The position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work without direct supervision, the ability to type 70 wpm, good word processing and computer skills, good communication and writing skills, management of agency databases and knowledge of general office procedures.
Principal Activities:
- Performs simple and complex clerical duties including word processing, typing, filing and other administrative support functions.
- Maintain a comprehensive filing system.
- Assists in preparing routine and special reports.
- Assists in management of agency database.
- Assists in maintaining data for the supervisor and compiling reports.
- Manages communications and correspondence for as needed.
- Provides administrative assistance/support to the department.

Language skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribe style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
