Job Title: Credentialing Specialist
Duties:
- Review and evaluate provider applications for credentialing and re-credentialing
- Verify provider information, including licenses, certifications, and education
- Conduct primary source verification of provider credentials
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files and databases
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with credentialing standards and regulatory requirements
- Communicate with providers to obtain missing or incomplete information
- Assist in resolving credentialing-related issues or inquiries
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives related to credentialing processes
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in managed care credentialing or provider enrollment preferred
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Experience with insurance and/or medical billing
- Must be comfortable making phone calls to speak with insurance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in using credentialing software and databases
- Strong grammar and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
