Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Department of Ophthalmology Administrator, the Senior Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of the faculty credentialing. This position also provides administrative, clerical, and program support to senior staff and physicians, as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: executing academic faculty appointments, answering the phone, scheduling meetings and maintaining appointment calendars, making travel arrangements, assisting faculty with project-specific tasks, processing invoices, and tracking expenditures, maintaining department files, interacting with patients, taking calls and making appointments for department run clinical sites including but not limited to the Fertel Clinic and the Optical Shop. Provides backup for other staff in the department, including the Optical Shop specialist.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent• Three years’ relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree • Ophthalmological related experience or training• Academic or healthcare background, preferable in a medical school
