Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant will work with the owners and operators of food establishments and pool facilities to process preoperational paperwork and assist in supplying resources to meet the current industry health and safety standards. Individuals in this role will be responsible for verifying supporting documents for operations before operating and collaborating with stakeholders to provide progress and updates on the projects.
The Administrative Assistant is expected to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reviews required documentation for accuracy and completeness. Follow-ups with applicants as necessary to obtain required documentation.
- Determines ownership of food establishments and pool facilities utilizing applicable electronic resources such as Harris County Appraisal District and the Sales Tax Database.
- Responds to client emails and provides status updates as requested.
- Communicates application status to the appropriate staff to include the plan review team.
- Determines other regulatory requirements based on jurisdictional boundaries and refers clients to the appropriate agency.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
