Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant 4 for the Professional DevelopmentOffice and the Office of the President.
This position will assist the President, Executive Assistant to the President, and Manager of Professional Development. This position will provide confidential administrative and clerical support to the Office of the President and Professional Development office. This position will directly report to the Executive Assistant of the President and support the Manager of Professional Development while assisting with the everyday functions of these offices. This position will act as back-up for the Executive Assistant to the President to allow for efficient and uninterrupted functioning of the office.
This position will also complete accounting and budgeting tasks such as tracking purchases, PCard verification and creating requisitions and supporting materials, completing budget revisions, transfers, and journal vouchers, processing all travel claims and reimbursements, and overseeing spending for both offices.
This position will provide administrative support management duties for the Office of the President, which include: maintaining and processing highly sensitive information; understanding and applying current policies, regulations, and procedures; researching and analyzing changing policies and procedures; note taking and minute producing; and maintaining records for all documents that come in and out of the President's Office.
This position will assist with special events which include: advertising; event set-up and take-down; collecting of donations from the community; pre-event planning meetings and task assignment; collection and management of decorations and supplies; day-of event tasks; and surveys and data collection after events.
Required Qualifications

  • This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above

Schedule
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 29 (Step 01 $21.64/hr. - Step 03 $23.49)

The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
