The Hopkins Activity Center is a gathering place for older adults to stay active and engaged in the community through meaningful recreational, social, educational, and volunteer opportunities. The Activity Center also serves as a community facility for people of all ages, with a multipurpose gymnasium, meeting rooms, and kitchen available for rent.
The Activity Center is accepting applications for a PT Administrative Receptionist. This position serves as the first point of contact for Activity Center visitors. This is an exciting job opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional services to the community, especially to the senior population. This position plays a vital role in building and maintaining relationships within the community and ensuring access to quality programs and services. The ideal candidate should have experience in customer service, computer software technology and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
HOURS: 25-28 hours per week. Primarily weekdays between 8am - 4pm, but may include occasional weekend and evening hours depending on events.
- Welcome Activity Center visitors
- Serve as first point of contact, checking visitors in for activities, processing registrations, and collecting fees
- Performs office receptionist and secretarial duties such as answering phones and emails
- Providing information about the Activity Center, memberships, classes and activities
- Assisting with Rental customers
- General office/administrative duties
- Assists with event coordination and implementation
- Maintains attendance records for volunteers and participants
- May include light janitorial duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D; 1 year administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
