- Minimum two (5) years of experience Accounts Receivable.
- Knowledge of reimbursement requirements and payor policy.
- Infusion background a plus.
- Ability to read an EOB (explanation of benefits) and denial reasons codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized and work well under fast paced conditions.
- Has the desire to progress and take on extra responsibility.
- Provide customer service both on the telephone and in the office for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts in accordance with office protocol.
- Customer calls regarding Accounts Receivable should be returned within 2 business days to ensure maximum patient satisfaction.
- Research and resolve incorrectly processed claims.
- Determine root causes and established trends across payors.
- Utilize reconsideration and appeals to fight denied claims.
- Advise AR leadership of workload problems, which may prevent timely follow up on accounts.
- Conducts individual and department-wide training as needed along with outsourced revenue cycle company.
- Documents timely and accurately in the EMR system.
- Completes projects as assigned.
- Attends departmental meetings and in-services as requested.
- General understanding of all other Patient Services Teams.
- Demonstrates courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior at all times.
- Proficient in computer skills regarding Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
- All other assigned duties.
