- Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Location: Waco, Texas
- Schedule: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p (In Office and/or Remote)
THE POSITION:
Accounts Receivable handles all secondary, tertiary, and patient billing and collection, and all payment appeals, as directed by management. Completes third party payer invoices and submits documentation to respective payers. Identifies and resolves incomplete and inaccurate billing information to resolve payment problems.Our finance team ensures that URS uses best practices for sound and ethical financial discipline, ensuring we are continuing to take care of our amazing patients.
- Enter all documentation into supply database accurately on a daily basis as required.
- Understand and practice the rules regarding patient confidentiality, HIPAA, and compliance and safety. Adhere to all state and federally mandated standards regarding confidentiality and patient rights.
- Keep record of all communications and actions in the appropriate note fields in data base.
- Enter and maintain patient account profile information and accurate referral source data.
- Perform verification of insurance.
- Accurately and efficiently create the required funding and delivery documents.
- Verify Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance coverage as required, with both primary and secondary payers.
- Access information on medical justification and revenue qualification to maximize reimbursement rates.
- Fully understand the software system and enter all information in the different fields as required. Utilize computer’s various reports to help identify and resolve issues.
- Fully understand the computer billing system and enter all required information.
- Ensure completion of receipt of all documents needed for billing and all other documents, as appropriate.
- Check all billing, line by line; to make sure that the claim is billed to the proper payer source, in the proper billing format, with the appropriate codes and quantities.
- Maintain billing files on all assigned patients and generate invoices to payers and customers in a timely manner.
- Prepare reports, as assigned by supervisor. Utilize computer-generated reports to monitor and maintain appropriate billing practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- DME experience preferred
- Strong mathematical skills
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting
- Previous experience with accounting software and managing spreadsheets in MS Excel is preferred!
