Accounts Payable Specialist

THE ROLE:The Accounts Payable Specialist contributes to Lutheran Community Services Northwest's mission by providing an exceptional experience for our vendors, clients, and staff who procure products and services. The Accounts Payable Specialist works closely with all operations' locations, accounting, and billing. The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a major role in providing support to the entire organization as well as maintaining relationships with our employees and external vendors through timely payment and accurate accounting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Ensure proper documentation and authorization on all payable invoices.
•Accurate and timely entry of payables into accounting system (MIP).
•Process the payment of outstanding payables, including employee expense reimbursements, (checks, credit cards and wires).
•Review and process employee expense reports according to policy.
•Maintain effective vendor data and relationships.
•Research and resolve vendor discrepancies and inquiries.
•Maintain proper files for paid vouchers, fixed asset purchases and other required documentation as needed.
•Other accounting functions as needed.

•Basic accounting knowledge in order to research and resolve accounting issue
•Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables/vlookups) preferred
•Intermediate Adobe skills (merge PDFs, use PDF stamps and other tools) preferred
•Prior experience with MIP Software preferred
•Able to use both Microsoft and Google suites
EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum 2 years of experience in the procure-to-pay function
•Minimum 2 years working with an ERP system
•Not-for-profit industry experience preferred
•Federal procurement experience
•MIP experience
EDUCATION or TRAINING:
•Associate's degree in business, accounting or finance desired
