A Village Wellness Center is a new behavioral health organization in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals dealing with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders (MH/SUD). Our mission is to offer a supportive and evidence-based approach to counseling that empowers our clients to embark on their journey to recovery and wellness. We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate IOP/OP Counselor to join our team on a part-time basis in Silver Spring, Maryland. Position Overview:
The IOP/OP Counselor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based counseling services to our clients. This position involves conducting both in-person and virtual counseling assessments and sessions as part of our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient Program (OP). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a start-up environment and possess a strong foundation in educating & counseling those with co-occurring MH/SUD disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct client evaluations to accurately identify client needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address client needs effectively, ensuring a roadmap for the recovery process.
- Deliver both in-person and virtual counseling sessions, as required, ensuring a high standard of care and adherence to program protocols.
- Engage in the continuous evaluation of client progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Develop individualized aftercare plans for IOP clients, incorporating necessary mental health support, substance use management, and community resources.
- Serve as a pivotal point of contact, facilitating seamless coordination between referral sources, healthcare providers, and other pertinent agencies. Your role is crucial in ensuring that clients receive a cohesive and integrated treatment experience, fostering optimal outcomes.
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines and regulatory compliance (i.e. COMAR) requirements specific to MH/SUD counseling.
- You will play a key role in ensuring that our program consistently aligns with COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations) and Joint Commission standards. Your contribution is crucial not only to the continuous improvement of our services but also to maintaining our commitment to compliance and excellence. This adherence helps to elevate the standard of care and support we provide to our clients, ensuring both safety and quality in our treatment offerings.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the program by providing feedback on processes, client needs, and program outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Active License: CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT
- At least 3 years experience working in an IOP/OP setting
- Certification or specialized training in treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexibly in a start-up environment and adapt to evolving program needs.
- Experience in delivering both in-person and virtual counseling sessions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in implementing evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Hours:
- Part-time: Up to 15-20 hours per week, with potential for growth as the program expands.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
