Accounts Payable Clerk – Part Time

Summit Veterinary Advisors is a veterinary specific accounting and consulting firm that has been serving veterinarians for over 25 years. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing accounting team. The AP Clerk will be responsible for managing multiple AP inboxes for our clients, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. You’ll need to have excellent time management skills and knowledge of basic Accounts Payable and accounting principles.

Skills/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting is preferred.

• Experience in using QuickBooks Online (minimum 1 year experience).

• Understanding of Accounts Payable practices.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; including Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities with a high attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

• Review and verify vendor bills for accuracy, completement and compliance with policies and procedures.

• Code and enter vendor bills into the accounting system accurately, ensuring proper allocation to the appropriate general ledger accounts.

• Process payments to vendors as needed in accordance with payment terms and processes.

• Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with vendors and clients as needed to resolve issues.

• Maintain vendor accounts, including updating vendor information, downloading, and reconciling statements and responding to client and/or vendor inquiries in a timely manner.

• Processing of annual 1099’s for clients.
